Get a feel
for the game.
A gentle squeeze is all it takes. Here is how to get started and what to try if the controls feel off.
Your first quest
- Hold your iPhone upright and comfortably, with your fingers around the sides and clear of the screen and side buttons.
- Choose a quest. Watch the hand demonstration, then follow the on-screen lesson.
- Squeeze gently to pull Aperta back, then ease off to launch.
- Keep the phone steady as you play. A light, repeatable grip works better than trying to squeeze harder.
Keep the phone secure. Use comfortable pressure, never bend the phone, and stop if squeezing hurts.
Fly, run and pause
Flying quests
Squeeze to lift Aperta. Ease off to glide lower. In flight, a gentle hold followed by a release can draw nearby oranges toward Aperta.
Running quests
Aperta runs automatically. Squeeze once to jump, then ease off to get ready for the next jump. Holding a squeeze does not trigger repeated jumps, and harder squeezing does not add height.
Pause at any time
Touch anywhere on the game to open Game paused. Choose Continue, How to play or Quit. Touching the screen pauses both flying and running quests.
If the controls feel off
- Pause and hold the phone comfortably still.
- Open How to play and choose Reset squeeze signal.
- Start with a relaxed grip, then try a small squeeze and release.
Movement and changes in hand position can affect the signal. If the game asks you to hold still, settle your hand and ease off before squeezing again. After pausing or returning to the app, release your grip before the next jump.
For a slower pace, enable Cozy mode in Game Setup. You can also choose Replay tutorials to see the lessons again.
Quests and progress
Every quest is available from the start. Choose any of the 12 zones and try the quest you want.
Earn points by clearing obstacles and collecting oranges. Reach the target to continue into the next quest. Stars reward completion, orange collecting and clean runs. Earn stars to unlock new looks for Aperta.
Progress and preferences are saved on your iPhone. Aperta has no account or cross-device sync service. Deleting the app may remove local progress, so do not delete it as a troubleshooting step. Device backups and restores are managed by iOS.
